And Another One…

Progress continues as we venture into the 3D world from the flat 2D animatic. I always find a sort of calmness when modeling. Like the world just turns without me for a while and when I come back up for air, the model is almost done and it’s time to go. Like reading a good book or getting lost in a video game, it makes the passage of time easier to swallow. For this session, I finished the house I’d been working on for our Swamp shots, the big bag Madam Gator’s little Chateau in the Bayou. I’ve also been working on the aforementioned character’s model as well and now begins the arduous but necessary process of preparing it for rigging. Lots of added geometry and other touch ups so that fingers and arms bend appropriately. I have to give it up for our rigger though, the only person on the team with any experience and he’s rolling through it like a champ. It’s really coming together though and I think most of our interpersonal issues have been addressed and somewhat solved, so as we continue our work, it’s getting easier to get critiques and present new ideas without hesitation. It’s a relieving feeling.

Anywho, that’s all for today. More to come as things get approved and finished for the 3D animatic.
